Kimberly S. Budil M.S. ’88, Ph.D. ’94, director of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory

Kimberly S. Budil is the director of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, where she leads a workforce of approximately 8,400 employees and manages an annual operating budget of $3 billion. As director, she sets the strategic vision for the Laboratory and is responsible for the successful execution of programs and operations to enhance national security through application of cutting edge science and technology and to maintain an outstanding and diverse workforce.
She leads the development and implementation of the Laboratory’s scientific vision, goals and objectives, and engages with the senior leadership of the Department of Energy, National Nuclear Security Administration, and other federal agencies, as well as senior leaders across government, academia and the private sector. She serves on several boards and participates in numerous professional and community outreach activities.
Budil holds a Ph.D. in engineering and applied science from the University of California, Davis, and a B.S. in physics from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Victoria Coleman ’08, director of winemaking at the Caves at Soda Canyon

Victoria Coleman is an accomplished winemaker with a deep passion for viticulture and winemaking. Originally from Seattle, she began her winemaking journey in 1998 as a production assistant at Stag's Leap Wine Cellars, where she worked for four years. Inspired by the estate's terroir-driven approach, Victoria decided to pursue formal studies in viticulture and winemaking.
In 2005, during her time at UC Davis, Victoria made her debut vintage while working at Mario Bazan. After graduating, she continued to expand her experience as a winemaking intern at Chateau Mouton Rothschild under technical director Erick Tourbier, before joining Lobo Wines as the viticulturist and winemaker.
With over 19 vintages to her name, Victoria has provided consulting services to various wineries, including a six-year tenure as viticulturist and winemaker for Jade Valley in China. Currently, Victoria holds the position of Director of Winemaking at The Caves of Soda Canyon. Her hands-on approach to winemaking reflects her dedication to the craft. Victoria's expertise and passion have earned her a respected reputation in the industry.
As the first Black woman to make wine in Napa Valley, Victoria’s trailblazing role is as important to her as her work as a winemaker. She believes that her position in the industry will both inspire and create opportunities for the younger generation of Black winemakers. By witnessing someone like herself achieving success pursuing this path, she hopes that others will realize they can also achieve their dreams.
Victoria is also pleased to announce she will be launching her own brand, which will be available for purchase in 2025. She is the first Napa Valley-based Black woman winemaker to launch her own brand.
Beyond her winemaking pursuits, Victoria has a soft spot for Zeus, a rescue dog who accompanies her in Lobo's vineyards. Together, they embody Victoria's unwavering commitment to creating exceptional wines through the harmonious blend of art and science.
Rinki Sethi ’04, vice president and chief information security officer at BILL

Rinki is currently the Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer at BILL, where she will be leading the global information technology functions and is also responsible for leading efforts to protect BILL’s information and technology assets and advise the company’s continued innovations in the security space.
Rinki Sethi brings decades of security and technology leadership expertise and was recently VP & CISO at Twitter and Rubrik, Inc. Rinki has been at the forefront of developing cutting edge online security infrastructure at several Fortune 500 companies such as IBM, Palo Alto Networks, Intuit, eBay, Walmart.com, and PG&E. Rinki also serves on the board of ForgeRock, a public company in the identity and access management space and Vaultree, a data encryption company.
Rinki holds several recognized security certifications and has a B.S. in Computer Science Engineering from UC Davis and a M.S. in Information Security from Capella University.
Rinki has served on the development team for the ISACA book, “Creating a Culture of Security” by Stephen Ross and was the recipient of the “One to Watch” Award with CSO Magazine & Executive Women’s Forum in 2014 and more recently the Senior Information Security Practitioner Award with ISC2 in 2018. Most recently, in 2023, she was recognized in Lacework’s top 50 CISOs list. She led an initiative to develop the first set of national cybersecurity badges and curriculum for the Girl Scouts of USA. Rinki serves as a mentor for many students and professionals.

Pamela Wu, director of news and media relations, UC Davis Health

Pamela Wu’s career spans the fields of broadcast journalism, public relations, and communications training. Wu is the director of News and Media Relations for UC Davis Health. In 2021 AND 2023, she received Emmy Awards in the category of Health/Medical Long-Form Content. Wu has also served as a substitute host for Capital Public Radio, Sacramento's NPR station.
